A Tradition of Healing That Transforms Lives

In the community of Idimu, Lagos state, where access to quality healthcare can be a challenge for many, Oluwaseun Medical Centre has become a light in the dark. Every year, in partnership with RCCG Topmega Parish, the hospital organizes a free medical outreach that serves over 200 individuals—offering not just treatment, but dignity, compassion, and connection.

The church grounds are transformed into a vibrant health camp. Tents are pitched, tables are lined with medical supplies, and volunteers—doctors, nurses, and support staff—arrive early, ready to serve. From the elderly to young children, people gather with anticipation, knowing that this day could change their lives.

“I wasn’t feeling well but couldn’t afford a full checkup. The doctors here helped me understand what was going on, gave me drugs, and even gave me advice I could follow at home.”Grace, 2023 participant

🩺 Services Offered During the Outreach

The outreach is designed to be comprehensive and inclusive. Services include:

  • Blood Pressure & Diabetes Screening Early detection of hypertension and diabetes, with on-the-spot counseling.

  • Malaria Testing & Treatment Rapid diagnostic tests and free medication for confirmed cases.

  • Nutritional Counseling Advice on diet, hydration, and lifestyle tailored to individual needs.

  • Free Medications & Referrals Essential drugs provided at no cost, with referrals for further care when needed.

Each patient is treated with respect and empathy. The medical team takes time to explain diagnoses, answer questions, and offer practical advice—ensuring that care doesn’t end when the outreach does.

💬 Community Voices

The impact of this initiative goes beyond numbers. It’s in the stories shared, the smiles exchanged, and the renewed sense of hope.

“I brought my mother and my two children. We were all seen by doctors. It felt like someone finally cared.”Samuel, local resident

“I’ve never seen a hospital give so much without asking for anything. It’s a blessing.”Fatima, outreach volunteer

🌱 Why It Matters

In Nigeria, many families face financial and logistical barriers to accessing healthcare. This outreach bridges that gap by bringing medical care directly to the people. It also strengthens community bonds and reinforces Oluwaseun Medical Centre’s mission to serve with compassion.
